You have to pull each side of the ring apart while pushing the ball in place (easier to get the first nub in first before you pull and push), once you do it you'll hear a click. It's hard to get it in and out the first few times but then it eases up a bit.
Doing that can stretch out the ring slightly, and make the ball more likely to fall out. The trick really, get one notch in, line it up and work at it. CBRs are a BITCH, you should maybe try a seamless ring, or something like this if you are having trouble.

I wouldn't recommend it. You probably could but it would hurt something awful and would be more prone to infection. Thankfully your septum should heal fast; I was able to easily tuck mine up within two weeks.

Have to take my lip ring out for job interviews and such :/ I really like it, gotta find something other than a captive ring though, because I DO NOT want to deal with the hassle of putting it in and taking it out every day >_< Besides that just have a 2g piercing in each ear, letting those heal and then going to 0 and then stopping. Maybe will get an eyebrow piercing one day, but we'll have to see about that one.

Piercings look so painful. I've got about 4 piercings on each of my ears, but that's it. I just can't gather myself to get anymore. Tattoos look awesome but I just wish they weren't done using needles. :(
