The Music Forum

Welcome to the Music & Popular Culture forum. This forum is for all music related topics, as well as most pop culture topics. You can post about celebrities here, or if you want to be more accurate with actors and such, use the Film & Television forum for those kinds of topics.

More importantly though, this forum is primarily devoted to music. The sharing, critiquing, debating, and general discussion of music. New single you want to share? New song youre trying to learn on your Gibson? Who was the greatest metal band? Whatever you need, this is your music source. And lastly, I encourage actual discussion. If youre posting here, why not form a sentence or two while youre at it? Its always nice to see actual music discussions going on instead of youtube videos with nothing else and a bunch of replies amounting to nothing but "cool." There are endless amounts of things you to discuss, so go nuts and have fun.

And now for something completely different.

The Music Forum Rules

  • This isnt really a rule, more of a suggestion. When you post a video with some band in it, try and include the band and title of the song so people know whether or not they want to listen to it, or maybe just the phrase "some excellent post-folk revival" or whatever the genre is.
  • If someone asks "What's your favourite Motorhead song?" or something of the sort, and you're like "I never heard of them" or "THEY SUCK!" and leave it at that, that's considered non contributory. If you've never heard of them, you can PARTICIPATE IN A DISCUSSION by asking questions about the band, such as the lead singer's favorite color or perhaps even as far as the OP's favorite song by them or maybe the band's website. And if you really hate the band, give a reason why! You don't like their over synthesized attempt at art? That's fine, but at least legitimize your claim. This is the same kind of policy found in other forums when you respond to the topic with something that has nothing to do with the subject. "Don't post for the sake of posting."
  • Music-related tech topics about things like MP3 players, iPods, and music editting software belong in one of the appropriate tech forums.
  • Do not ask ways to illegally download music. P2P's themselves are legal, but often host copyrighted music. Read this for more information on copyrighted music.
