Would you say overweight people have low confidence and are unhappy for the most part?

I feel like that is a widely held belief but I am not sure if it is true or not. People hide their feelings pretty well.

That may be true for plenty of overweight people, but also a lot of overweight people are actually quite happy.

The majority of them yes, it's only natural. Sure there are exceptions to the rule, but given how mainstream society portrays and treats overweight people, it's not irrational to presume this is true for the average overweight person.

Def. was the case for me before 1) I grew out of most of the low confidence 2)I lost most of the weight.

I would bet that lack of confidence would be more prevalent in overweight people, were there to be a study. And happiness too..But probably just in regards to weight. Like my confidence and happiness with things I'm not the strongest in. Probably not in general

I'm 6'2" and 260lbs.

I've been smaller, I've been bigger.
I've realized that my weight doesn't dictate my happiness.

Look at dawn french versus.... oh i dont know Keira Knightly. She looks so much happier and confident in herself. I dont think weight is the main issue of low self esteem.

I don't think so. I really don't think you can judge whether someone is happy or not based solely on weight.

I mean, if you went with that logic, then all healthier-weight people should be happy right? And I'm pretty sure we all know that's not true.

Sure people who carry excess weight have a lot of negativity in how they're portrayed and talked about more like a disease than a person but that doesn't mean we're all unhappy all the time.

Also, confidence doesn't equal self-esteem (or self-worth). Anyone can have shitty confidence.
